The Kelchen Family

Run free, Mugi Boy!!

Mugi, AKA Leo in his former life, came to Ohio as a 2 year old foster from Missouri and was soon adopted into our pack.

Being a Japanese family, we've adored the Shiba breed for decades before they were an internet meme. Mugi was an avid outdoor enthusiast and loved exploring Alum Creek State Park, Preservation Parks, the Dog beach, or just hanging out in the yard for hours on nice days. He was a bit of nervous Nelly, jumping at the slightest sound or movement, but he eventually learned to relax sometimes and enjoyed some cuddles, especially early in the morning. He loved playing under sheets, blankets or towels and being chased around the house doing zoomies. He was an excellent hunter like his ancestors. Nothing was more exciting than finding mice, voles, and moles. His sniffers could find them even below ground and he'd dig out his targets. He loved riding along to and from school with his human sister. He was the most undog like dog and we will miss all your quirks and your company.

We love you. Run free, Mugi Boy.
